The Desirous Evergreen

The tragic isolation of the gnarled trunk reaching
its bare arms out for love
constantly reflecting in the shallow pool that feeds it, along with
the burning light

anxious knowing that had it been born of forest birth
its lonely arms would wrap and tangle with its tall
reliable brothers and lovers.
but here it can only reach its arms out above
where the small envious short sided leaves of grass lay together
unbeknown of the height and reflection of an arrogant growth .

post modern verse

Reaching the stem gnarled, solitary tragic
To bare arms for the love
Always together with the feed into a shallow pool
Burning Light

Tall and wrapped in seaweed and the arms of solitude
Loving brother of reliability.
But here you can reach your arms above
Short side to put together a little envious of the grass leaf in
The reflection of the growth of knowledge and the height of arrogance.
