Calypsing Memory

Even the man who had
all the beauty and pleasure and wealth
that anyone could want, memories lingered
of a world he knew before more pure then indulgent
and yet it is this way with all comparison for its our condition
memory only serves as a spiteful slave, one that shows
you want you had, d0 not what you have

post modern verse

The man everyone
Joy and beauty and richness of all
Anyone can remain in the memories
He knew more before the world pure and sweet
And, yet, in comparison to all of our conditions, this method
Memory, spiteful slave, as a one-show
You have to do
